The Art + Justice Project believes that a better, more just Baltimore can be achieved by identifying, strengthening and supporting collaboration between artists, arts organizations and social change advocates in Baltimore.
The Art + Justice Project will identify and connect artists, arts organizations and social change advocates in Baltimore. The project also seeks to help shape a national dialogue on the role of art as a tool for justice in communities.
The Art + Justice Project will facilitate a community-centered process of data collection that will enable the city of Baltimore to map and better understand its arts-based social justice tools and strategies. The project will lay the groundwork for the creation of web-based resources for use by artists, advocates, philanthropists and others who are interested in engaging art to as a powerful means to advance a social justice agenda in Baltimore.
